Its HIV-positive speakers are putting a face on the epidemic, and our youth empowerment programs are training a new generation of community educators and activists. Love Heals also creates and distributes educational materials, shares its expertise and advocates for young people’s right to HIV/AIDS education.

Kate Meckler is active in Reach Out and Read at Bellevue Hospital. Reach out and Read gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together, Kate believes reading can bring people together. In the Greater New York region, we provide new, age-appropriate books and literacy guidance to over a quarter of a million children in New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.

Kate Meckler is a member of The Young Lions Society at the New York Public Library. The Young Lions is a special membership group for New Yorkers in their 20s and 30s who love literature, love events, and love the Library. Young Lions members receive exclusive access to engaging and inspiring forums, behind-the-scenes tours of the NYPL, pre-release film screenings, intimate discussions with emerging writers, the annual Young Lions Fiction Award, and more. Membership provides critical support to the Library’s Book Fund, which ensures all New Yorkers have access to books, e-books, and other essential resources, completely free of charge.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Kate Meckler is a lifelong New Yorker who graduated from Riverdale Country School and New York University with a BA degree. She began her career in marketing and event planning at Bear Stearns and Estee Lauder. Catherine also taught at a prestigious nursery school on the Upper West Side before entering real estate in 1999. Her vast knowledge of New York City real estate is self-evident and extremely valuable.
Kate is also a devoted mother and an avid tennis player.
